W3995374 NOT Here..

I've never bothered to check before (so i'm not sure when exactly it happened) but when i did today (after discovering that taverns can now be upgraded), the exp i have been saving up on my heroes have been used up (more than 60k each on 4 or 5 heroes in 2 cities) and now i have crappy stats (charisma exceeding strength and command). Was this automatically done by the server? Thank you for your time.
