Because TCP/IP is packet based, each time a packet is sent, it must be acknowledged via an acknowledgment packet. This slows down the system. To keep the sender from having to wait for every packet to be acknowledged before sending another one, you can increase the window size (TcpWindowSize) value on the receiver end. Then, the sender can send packets until that value is reached before the receiver needs to send an acknowledgment. To tweak the TCP/IP parameters to increase the window size, you need to manually update the registry:

Start regedit.exe.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters.
From the Edit menu, select New, DWORD value.
Enter a name of TcpWindowSize, and press Enter.
Double-click the new value, change the Base value to decimal, and enter a value of 32767. Click OK.
Close regedit.
Reboot the machine.

A new version of messenger discovery live (a patch for windows live messenger) have been released on 20th April 2008(sunday).the new version of Messenger Discovery Live(MDL) have many new exiting features like "contact apearing offline alert,parental control,slow file transfer fix.timed unblock" and many more..It also have 10 other improvements than the previous version of MDL.and also over 10 bug fixes....new !commands,new alerts..and so on..

This version only works above the version of windows live messenger 8.0
*but its not working in messenger 9.0-i have checked that*

Do you know why Mac is better than Windows PC? Mac+vs+Windows

Have you switched from your Windows PC to a Mac yet, or still a bit hesitant to the bargain? I assure you that you will have a glide, if you make the switch — be it an iMac, MacBook or even a Mac Mini.

I have nothing against Windows, especially if it is running XP. But if it is Vista — you will have to upgrade your memory, graphics card, hard disk and what not! Or you will have to buy a brand new expensive computer. Then, you have to decide on which version of Vista — Enterprise, Business, Home Basic, Home Premium or Ultimate.
