My Beautiful Autistic Daughter
I hear people " Tut" as i`m stood in a long going know where queue in the Post office. One woman said " Can`t you stop your child from screaming and kicking her legs out.? ". I gave her a disconcerning look and replied " If it bothers you that much, Let me go infront of you, then we can get out your way! "... She did`nt budge, so it was`nt bothering her that much !
People often assume i`m a bad mother and my child is undiscaplined. Abbie often screams outloud, and kicks and punches people for apparently no reason. But - SHE HAS ASPERGERS SYNDROME ( lower end of scale of the Autistic spectrum disorders) !
I first noticed " things was`nt quite right " When she was a few months old.
She fed every two hours and then was awake for two hours, so was a constant battle to get her sleeping. She would sleep on average 7 hours out of 24.
She hated to be held close, she would scream and push me away,......
