I got the same problem, I tried turn off/on xp firewall and still no help, but sometimes the yellow turn......
I think You are right.
I just try to make sure of the problem.
And don't close the firewall all along.
Connecting to the internet without a firewall is extremely dangerous. Anyone who tells you to do that......
