To all, just to say that i have the same problem with bitcomet 1.15 and i never modified setting.......
Try downgrading. I downloaded version .96 and it works great.
(This is a response to lextfraser's advice) I'm having similar problems and I am going to follow your......
I suppose, as lame as this situation is, it also stops us from Seeding, which is not very good considering......

Did you ever manage to solve the problem with your system crashing with bitcomet? If possible, please can you let me know at peter@petermachen.com. It's been driving me mad for ages. It also crashes with other p2p clients but much less with bitcomet. It also happened on my old pc, and straight away on a brand new laptop. I think XP service pack 2 is the villain but an un upgrade to sp 3 hasn't really helped.
I'd be very greatful if you'd share any possible solution with me.
