Jonathan Rea has described his first MotoGP test with Honda as 'unbelievable' as he concluded an extended four days of running at Sepang.

Rea was given the chance to test the RC212V as a reward for his efforts with the manufacturer in the World Superbike Championship, the Ulsterman joining Honda test rider Kousuke Akiyoshi in Malaysia.

Though the test was originally scheduled for three days, heavy rain on the third of those days would see Rea get another three hours on the bike the next morning.

Ben Spies has hailed the two podiums during his maiden MotoGP season as being up there with his World Superbike title victory, claiming they were well beyond his pre-season expectations.

The American underlined his potential as a future MotoGP star by putting in a series of strong performances on the satellite Tech 3 Yamaha, Spies claiming a maiden podium at Silverstone before scoring a popular pole position and second place finish at Indianapolis.

MotoGP title leader Jorge Lorenzo, who previously compared his 800cc M1 to a 250GP machine along the Indianapolis main straight, once again raised concerns about the straight-line performance of his Yamaha after qualifying at Aragon on Saturday.
