Speed Up Vista by Disabling the Windows Search Service

Follow these steps to disable Windows Search Service.

• Click on Start button.
• Select Control Panel.
• Click onSystem and Maintenance.
• Then Administrative Tools.
• Now double click on Services.

If you haven’t the disabled your User Account Control – UAC, you’ll see a pop-up asking you for permission.

• Go To Windows Search.
• Right click and select Properties.

• Now click on Stop button to stop the indexing service.

• Now select Disabled from the dropdown box.

• Click Apply and OK and you’re done. This will save a lot of time and noise.
