Trying New Things
Size: Large, Medium, Small Thu Jul 10, 08 10:03 AM | Category: Random [IMO]

For your information, before I start this post, I'll just put down the currency exchange.

$1 USD = $1.37 (where I live)

I checked Tuesday's newspaper.

IN MY OPINION~

Trying new things tend to add up to your monthly expenditure.

This excludes those free things you try... like the first thing that every baby tried in this world is breath air into their lungs. Now, that's what I mean - free.

Let's try to see what new things I have tried up to now.

  • Breathed in air - free
  • Food - [parents $$]
  • Interest in toys - [parents $$]
  • School [parents $$]
  • Books[Parents $$]

Right.. you get the point.. I'll skip to times when I actually paid for things on my own.

Discovered shaving [shaver $$]

Eventually I would need to get new blades as well. So let's add [$$ for blades].

Zits [creams and whatnots $$]

My mom actually got a brand that actually works for me. But that was about 3-digit $$ - so my mom got them for me instead. This only happened when I was around 17 yrs old. Apparently, my face is high maintenance.

Prepaid Cards [for mobile phones $$]

You should understand.

Also developed an interest in buying hats /caps [$$]

Only because Australia is really sunny bright during summer and most of the season except winter. I even walk under the rain with a cap to uni. Umbrellas [ella~ ella~ ella~] are useless there! The winds are never merciful.

Navel Piercing [$$]

TWICE! The first time, it got rejected.. So the scar is still there with my second piercing. Apparently, I was allergic to the metal I had on me the first time.

Realised Waxing was better for me [$$]

But sometimes I still do shave to get the strays that waxing missed.

Learnt to cook on my own [Ingredients $$]

Developed a liking to make japanese dishes - they were easy and fast to make. Aside from bread and peanut butter. Mind you - Uni student. I was once called 'pizza girl' cause' at one time I kept ordering them T-T and stopped ryt when I realised dats what they called me.

Learnt to drive [instructor $$]

Sadly, I failed in my first attempt cause' I was nervous as hell during the test. I went up a curb reversing =p But my instructor was great tho! If only I remember how to do a reverse parallel parking the way he taught me...

It's okay now, I took lessons and passed my test when I was done with uni and over with my 1 yr probation =)

Decided to take up fashion design as an optional unit [fabrics $$]

Fabrics are realllll expensive yo when you just keep buying the pretty looking ones without looking at the prices.

Good thing I only took it for one semester.

Clothes [$$]

Do I need to explain more?

When I first arrived to Australia, I used to spend 50$ on pants or $15-$30 on shirts each week. Imagine the strain on my bank account. Eventually I got smarter and managed to spend around $500 per mth including rent, food and prepaid card for my phone. And if I remember correctly, I limited myself to one outfit [shirt, pants, dress, skirt or shoes] to 1 item a mth.

Hair Extensions [$$]

I have a habit of changing my hairstyle and hair don't grow that fast. So I usually end up with a short haircut. So! I decided to go for hair extensions down to my waist which I never manage on my own before. It was difficult to maintain though. They're dry things that gets tangled easily when I comb. And when more than half of them fell off.. it's rather obvious they're fake so I went to my usual salon to pull em off. I opted for the round metal thing they flatten with pliers with the fake hair. Good thing for my high pain tolerance. I still have em pieces of hair in a plastic bag somewhere in my room. My mom kept it hidden cause' she thinks it's somewhat creepy and disgusting. Too many ghost movies i guess.

Got a Car = $$ for Petrol

My car (Kimi, is her name ^^) is low maintenance. She usually needs 20$ worth of petrol each mth. And I (myself) try to wash and wax her at the end of each mth and occassionally rinse her if she gets dirty. She's a Soo-Zoo-Kee Ess Ex Fouh~

...and etc.

Now I'm back home and working.

Brazilian Waxing [$$]

I tried. I like. I feel pretty xD I will continue.

I can handle pain well, so that's not really a problem for me. The last time I went - I brought my psp with me and added a couple of shows. Waxing lady was amused by the way I giggling [ONLY because of the tv series i was watching!] and not show my 'pain' face.

Recently.

Eyelash Perming [$$]

In my opinion, I don't like it.

Basically when you look at yourself in the mirror it looks nice cause' you see the lashes goin upwards in front of where you eyelid creases (if you have double eyelids). But from the side view, it just looks plain fake and obvious. ANYWAY, I'll make this another post exculsively complaining about eyelash perming.

Future Consideration - For trying new things

Get a Bike License [$$]

I got interested. Found a bike that's only 10k. I'm saving up another 8k and hope to get one by end of next yr. If i follow through everything.

Eye Surgery [$$]

My vision is getting worse me thinks. I haven't research much about that Lasik or anything similar to that yet. But when it does becomes a bother, I would start looking around for options.

Laser Hair Removal [$$]

My sis did it for her legs and suggested I should too. But a few thousand $s for a few session. I'll consider it when I have so much money, I don't know how to spend them - probably would never happen. But would consider when I get overly interested.

Eyelash Extension [$$]

I would think it looks better than eyelash perming.

Plasma Tee Vee <3 [$$]

I'll get one of these when I get a place of mah own.
