Long post ahead
Situation:
Boyfriend is in his final year in Uni (overseas) so this Uni does a thing where they basically tire them out with only 1week holiday before exams. Rinse and repeat for 3 terms. So! He won't be back til September this year. =( *major pout*
Idea:
I plan to visit him cept in my job I'm not allowed to take leave on work days. Something about affecting my bonus or salary or probation period. I'm still on probation until Dec holidays (I'm a high-school teacher). So best not to temper with that.
Research:
I looked into possible dates. Valentine's, anniversary or his birthday. Valentine's is too close. Anniversary ... actually we still have yet to celebrate anniversary together but it can wait - since he could be waiting for a surprise (therefore it's not a surprise no mo). His birthday which could be even more memorable cos' I have always surprised him cept last year when he told me he dont want nuffin. But in the end he told me nothing happened at all (sounding a little disappointed). I did remind him what he said to me tho~ So he nodded and tha was the end of the conversation. I found out all 3 of thses dates falls close to the weekend which sort of sucks. My country - weekend in Friday and Sunday.
Work on Saturday.
So:
Valentine's Day = 14th Feb = Friday
Anniversary = not telling June = Thursday
His Birthday = not telling July = Thursday
Still on research. I checked the return ticket.
$880 (my country dollar) = Valentine's day
$880 (my country dollar) = 4th Anniversary
$1010 (my country dollar) = his birthday
I'm hoping for some kind of promotion that wud lower that price. This surprise thing is expensive already even before I do anything.
History:
Not in order, because I don't remember which one came first.
This one time~ I planned with his bestfriend to get a cake and make him go to a said beach and we'll get the other bunch of guys there too to do all the 'happy birthday song' and smoosh cake in face. When he reached there, a friend was lighting a candle at the back of his car. Being a smoker for a boyfriend, he went over to ask for a lighter thinking he was lighting a cigarette.
This one time~ I told him I had to meet up with a friend who I didn't see for years. So we went and met up with her at a said cafe talked for a while. Then I had an idea on the spot. Went over to the counter and asked them to put a candle on a said slice of cake they have and sing to him. He was shock as two capital letter o's with a dot in the middle (O.O) I still can remember the way he blew the candle. Soooo FUCKING cute cos he was soooo embarassed xD My friend was a little shocked too, not knowing. I tried to lip it to her but she didn't get it.
This one time~ I made blueberry cheesecake for him. No surprise here cos' I told him bout it. So he came over and we was at the balcony. I went to take the cake and stuck a candle in it (for effect). Lit it when I brought it to him. Told him to make a wish and I still have that candle til now =) hoping his wish will / did come true.
Connections:
Boyfriend is in Singapore. His bestfriend is in KL. Another friend will be studying in Singapore in March. He is staying in an apartment that is owned by his friend's dad.
I intend to use these people to make my plan work.
Scrap Ideas:
Blue roses - I mentioned that if I ever gave him a flower it'd be blue roses cos red ones are not really cool to give a guy. Plus I checked out the meaning of it - mystery and something else I forgot. That should be just about right. So maybe get his friend who owns the apartment to stick one rose on the door with a note in the day when he's in class or something.
Frog Picture Frame I got from the Kinder Surprise Egg - I mentioned just when I showed it to him that if I could make it before he goes back to Singapore, I'd print out a picture and give it to him. But I think I'll just put a note in it. This I will pass to his friend who will be going to Singapore. I don't really trust his tact in keeping a secret so I need to give him a few rules to follow. Maybe the frog could go with the rose. Maybe not. It's not definite yet!
Diversion - I am still desperately trying to think of a plan for this. He basically has one meal a day because he's a Uni student with no parents around to take care of him. Or a girlfriend around to care about having lunch and dinner. He tends to have his 'lunner' at around 6 or 7. I would probably reach Singapore only at about 8 and probably close to 9 - not sure. I need someone to delay him having dinner... Maybe get a friend to make him go out for a late lunch?
Dinner - Not planning any fancy dinner cos' I just want to bring him to Pepper Lunch. Least both of us know how to get there and what to order right away.

Rather impossible ideas - He comes back finding his friends in his room or somewher in the apartment goin all wooo~~~ Surprise~! Drink a bit I guess.
Mmm... I wanted to fit in watching Pink Panther 2 somewhere but we'll see how it goes. The first movie was funny enough to make him laugh and shake me around simple because the guy's an idiot yet funny. So I'll not watch the second one til I see him ^_^v
Duration - I would only be in Singapore on a Thursday night (not rich enough to pay the airport to fly earlier) and would have to fly back by afternoon. There's only 2 flights =( I think the other one would make me reach home close to midnight on Friday. I still need to wake up early and teach on Saturday. Still deciding when I shud fly back.
Conclusion - If anyone, has any sort of idea I cud consider let me know! Don't just read and close the window! If you read this halfway, then I don't expect that you read the last sentence xD
This is what happens usually when I spoil him. I plan it as much as possible with not much expectations because in life, all my plans has never 100% fall into place.
