What is Torrent Share?

A torrent plays a very important role in the BitTorrent download. With a torrent file, BitTorrent clients are able to get clients list from trackers or DHT networks. The “peer to peer” download can be continued according to this clients list. Generally, most users get their torrents using HTTP/FTP from some torrent index sites. But Torrent Share which only available in BitComet make you free to exchange torrents with other BitComet users by getting torrents from others or sharing torrents with them. (Available in version 0.86 or above)

The Torrent ShareContent:

All the torrents sharing with “Torrent Share” are from users. BitComet has nothing to do with the content.

How to enable torrent share:

1. Select “Options”->”Preferences”->”Task”->”BT Task”, make “Enable torrent share” selected and adjust the number for “max torrents to display in torrent share list”

2. Select “channel” –“Torrent Share”, right click “My sharing” or “Shared by others”, select “Enable torrent share”.

  My sharing:
  • How to share my torrents with others?

Shared by others:

  • There is no or few torrent shared by others, why?

During the P2P download process, every time connected a BitComet client of “Torrent share” supported version, you BitComet client will automatically get the shared torrents list from that client. Then you will see those torrents in your “shared by others” list. As the old versions (version 0.86 or before) do not support torrent share function, your client can not get shared torrents if connected an old version client. We suggest you update your BitComet client to the latest version to make more torrents shared with others.

  • Hot to get my wanted torrents from torrents shared by others?

You could filter torrents by categories in shared torrents list or you could search the list by inputting keywords in text area after “Filter”.

  • How to add torrents shared by others into my download tasks?

Right click the torrent and click “Download” to download the torrent or click “Add to my sharing” to add this torrent to your sharing list. Ps: the download task won’t be added to your client if you only click “add to my sharing”.

What are the settings that make downloading go the fastest?

razzell2 Sat Nov 15, 08 07:47 AM

everyone who wants to know how to make your downloads faster. your downloads are only gonna go fast if

1. you forward a port number. pick a port number between 50000 and 70000, and learn how to port forward in the bitcomet forums, or google it and find instructions.

and

2. your download (and upload) speed will always be determined by your internet providers connection speed. if you have a 1 mb connection, your not gonna get over 200kB's. If you pay for the highest speed, maybe a 3 mb connection, you will get higher speeds...500+. call your provider, they can help you.

there is no secret checkmark or numbers, in your options, that can truly help you get a faster download speed. there are some that will slow you down, so read the bitcomet pages on what the settings should be.

[take a checkmark out of the PnP mapping box in your options. that slows you down}.

so to recap, your dl speed is dependent on your service providers speed of upload/download ratio.

and you really must portforward a port to use, to open your dl potential.

am i wrong? is this too simplistic? you techies, let me know.
