Generally, when BitComet first runs in your computer with Windows XP system, you will be notified to set the firewall to block or unblock BitComet, if you enable the system firewall. In this case, you should set it as “unblock”. Or else, you need to change some settings of the firewall according to this guide.

Click “Start”->”Settings”->”Control Panel”->”Windows Firewall”, make sure that “Don’t allow exceptions” is unselected whether the firewall is on or off.

Then, click “Exceptions” tag; check all the items in “Programs and Services”; make all BitComet services and UpnP Framework selected. Don’t forget to click “OK” to save the changes.

My light is of course gray.

I've followed directions from several different locations on allowing BC through thr firewall. They all looked right, but none worked. I've messed with ICP/TCPs so much I'm thoroughly confused.

What's more confusing is BC was working great prior to thanksgiving break. Now NOTHING! :( Can anyone explain something I haven't tried. Something not already in these forums.
