Set Windows XP firewall to unblock BitComet?

Generally, when BitComet first runs in your computer with Windows XP system, you will be notified to set the firewall to block or unblock BitComet, if you enable the system firewall. In this case, you should set it as “unblock”. Or else, you need to change some settings of the firewall according to this guide.

Click “Start”->”Settings”->”Control Panel”->”Windows Firewall”, make sure that “Don’t allow exceptions” is unselected whether the firewall is on or off.

Then, click “Exceptions” tag; check all the items in “Programs and Services”; make all BitComet services and UpnP Framework selected. Don’t forget to click “OK” to save the changes.

I've always got a YELLOW light, i've tried:

I run windows xp..to change the yellow light to green, only need to 'allow exceptions' in your firewall settings. Ensure that Bitcomet/Bittorrent are part of the exceptions tab.

Add an extra port (don't forget-between 49152-65534)

Voila...WAN green!!! If all this doesn't work, and if you're blond, just cover the yellow light with a round green sticker...it should make you feel better. (it may work too...?)

hey jack_the_ripper1 (RIPPER. i use "cFosSpeed - Version 4.06" and it never ever lets me down. not even once. please download it from here:

http://www.cfos.de/download/index_e.htm

http://www.cfos.de/traffic_shaping/traffic_shaping_e.htm#measure <- this is if u have any question in your mind concerning what it does. oh and it's a driver by the way..

i wish u good luck

people please use the bitcomet listining port 49510 for good seeded torrents.

although sometimes low-seeded torrents are slow even with this perfect listening port. i'm saying this because from well-seeded torrents i get full speed and using "cfos speed" helps even more.

please tell me if it works.

and good luck to all.

P.S. once, i decided to ENTER a random listening port (I DID NOT USE THE "CHOOSE RANDOM PORT" BUTTON) and i found out that 49510 is the best.. so it was VERY lucky
