so I'm developing this application, your basic database with a GUI frontend.

so I run the db on xampp-dsl virtual machine

and I'm doing the development on an XP VM

and because of the funky handlig of the mouse on the VM

I attach to it via remote desktop rather than use the direct interface.

 

so I have this great laptop running to VMs and remote desktop

and it hardly notices!

 

alright so who's more nerdy than that?

well,cloing my PC to a vm seems lost, not

on account of general impossibility, but

rather this particular PC is quirky. for instance

the C drive is actually drive1 not drive 0 as

it is on most PC's. I may be able to get past

some of this but not right now.

 

I'm trying to get vmware(TM) up and running

on a linux box but the kernel installed is not

compatible.

 

can't computers just get along?

I've been playing with virtual machines lately.  yesterday I used remote desktop

to connect to a vm running on my laptop from a vm running on my desktop...

how exciting is that?

 

 I'm trying to use g4u to clone one of my PC's into a vm.  its not going extremely wel

but I think I can work the bugs out...
