I thank all of the community who has supported me in process of me trying to stop smoking. In reply to that I can say proudly that it has been a week without a cigarette. I would like to thank <a href="/4719610/" target="_blank"><font color="#800080">rama1</font></a>&nbsp;in particular for his great advice. Read his comment on my previous blog if you would like to know what he said.</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'">&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'">Today I am going to discuss a new topic, one that might offend some people and to others it might mean nothing, but I do believe that our entire existence is to destroy ourselves in the end. Why do I say this? What are the scenes that play a role in this statement? That is our purpose. We will do anything to survive and we will impress even ourselves when we come to life threaten situations. That is our purpose for existing. I have been smoking for 12 years and recently I have decided to quit. Before I did quit though I went out and did a little research, utilizing the library on campus I tried to find out how many people really do stop smoking. To some it may come as a shock and to others it is expected, but most people DO NOT stop smoking after the first time. For most people it is a multitude of failures until success is gained.</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Book Antiqua','serif'">&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Book Antiqua','serif'">With this knowledge comfortably in my possession I went out and did more research. Cornering my students and my&nbsp;fellow colleagues&nbsp;at the university I tried to find out how many of them smoked, who are still smoking and who never smoked.</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Book Antiqua','serif'">&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Book Antiqua','serif'">There are several categories of smokers:</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Book Antiqua','serif'">&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Book Antiqua','serif'">1) The Casual Smoker</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Book Antiqua','serif'">This is the most common smoker, they love company and they love to smoke in company.
