Vampire Knight (ヴァンパイア騎士, Vanpaia Naito?) is a shoujo manga by Matsuri Hino. In Japan, Vampire Knight entered serialization in January 2005 in LaLa magazine, and entered serialization in North America in the June 2006 issue of Shojo Beat magazine. The anime premiered on April 7, 2008, and uses the voice cast from the drama CD.

Plot

Yuki's earliest memory is of a snowy night in winter, when she was
attacked by one vampire and was saved by another, Kaname Kuran. Ten
years later, Yuki Cross, the adopted daughter of the headmaster of
Cross Academy, has grown up and become a guardian for the school, with
two purposes: To protect the Day class (humans) from the Night class
(vampires)'s fangs and to protect the true identity of the Night class
students from being discovered by the Day class students.

Kaname Kuran, Yuki's savior, leads the group of Night class, with
the help of Takuma Ichijo. But also at her side is Zero Kiryu, a
childhood friend who was born into a family of vampire hunters and
whose hatred for the vampires that destroyed everything he held dear,
is now determined to kill them all and never trusts them. Through a
cruel twist of fate, Zero becomes a vampire himself, having been bitten
by a pureblood.

My Thoughts

I guess everyone will agree with me when i say that Vampire Knight is one of the most anticipated anime series this year. Seeing it being adapted into anime is definitely a dream come true for all of us - fans. I have been following its manga for a while now...and it sure is a challenge for me to be patient for the next episodes to come (currently at episode 2) though at times i can hardly contain myself. The anime started off at a slow pace which is not surprising since the manga started that way but the characters' emotions are definitely starting to build up coupled with a little bit of suspense and romance at each episode so fans are always left with more anticipation...Aaahhh bishies! What can we ever do without them? I really think all the male characters are HOT but Kaname is just sooo handsome...sooo cool! And if you ask me, I really wanted Yuki and Kaname to end up together though seeing where the manga has currently left off certainly can't guarantee it...so a lot of things are yet bound to happen whether we like it or not. Oh well so much for my ranting, i'll let it off for now.

Story

Hikari Hanazono has always been second to Kei Takishima. When they
were six years old, their pro-wrestling loving fathers introduced them
to each other. Assuming that she was the best in wrestling, young
Hikari challenged Kei to a wrestling match only to be thoroughly
defeated by him.

Ever since that fateful incident, Hikari swore to beat Kei in school
grades, a sporting event - anything. To do this, she has enrolled in
the same school as Kei since elementary. Now she attends Hakusenkan, an
ultra elite school, that costs her carpenter father a lot of money.
Hikari and Kei are the top two students in the school, with Kei holding
firmly to that number one position. While Hikari considers Kei to be a
rival and important friend, she is completely unaware that Kei loves
her.

The story primarily focuses on Hikari and her constant attempts to
defeat her one and only rival, Kei, and how she finds love in their
rivalry.

My Thoughts

I never thought this would also be serialized so soon! Though I am already an established fan to its manga, seeing it on anime is just really different!
It is interesting to note that only Hikari sees Kei as her ultimate
"enemy" be it academically or at sports. She is so dense in sensing
that Kei's been in love with her for years! While she struggles to get
into first place, she is constantly being taunted by Kei, who's born
genius and doesn't even need to study at all making poor Hikari stays
constantly at #2 but that's not about to bring her down any time soon! And now that this has been adapted into anime, the fun in watching their antics has never been so cool!

On
the other hand...don't you find the character design
so...errr...slightly different from the manga? Their legs are a bit
long and I didn't really expect for Kei to sound so...gay (well, that's
only my opinion) I was kind of expecting for him to sound more
masculine...with a bit of enigma kind of aura around him (which he
still has btw) though honestly it didn't sound really bad at all...it's
just that i was surprised to hear him talk like a suave...well, another
one of those things that i need to get used to though i still get that "flinch" whenever Kei talks...

Flinching aside, it sure was hilarious to watch Hikari and Kei
do the vault challenge (a little bit overboard don't you think?) and what about the training both went through in preparation for their wrestling match? These guys are monsters! What do they eat anyway?? But
anything is possible in this anime so expect more of these funny and simply outrageous stunts that these two have in
stored for us.
Mnemosyne: Mnemosyne
no Musumetachi (Mnemosyne －ムネモシュネの娘たち－, Mnemosyne: Mnemosyne no
Musumetachi? lit. Mnemosyne: Daughters of Mnemosyne) is a six-episode
Japanese anime original video animation produced by Xebec and Genco,
featuring grotesque and erotic visuals. The anime is to commemorate the
tenth anniversary of the AT-X network. The plot, rich in the mix of
murder and action, is set in 1990s Tokyo, and revolves around the
female private investigator Rin Asōgi.

Background

Rin
Asōgi runs a private investigation agency in Tokyo's Shinjuku district,
performing odd jobs ranging from finding lost pets to hunting rare
stamps in order to get by. Yet despite attempts at a (passably) normal
life, she finds herself constantly hindered by the strange cases that
come her way, figures from her dark past, and her inability to die.

My Thoughts

I highly recommend it to people who can succumb watching violent scenes
and gores coming out. I was honestly caught off guard when I saw the
first episode but ever since then, I kept on wanting more. The episodes are like 45 minutes in length so you'll be pretty
satisfied with the whole story and won't sleep grumbling about the
whole thing. It's a mature animé so guys, don't watch it with kids

violent...errr...somewhat mixed reactions from my younger siblings.

Bus Gamer (ビズゲーマー,
Bizu Gēmā?) is a short-lived Japanese manga series created by Kazuya
Minekura. It only exists as a single volume 'Pilot Edition' due to
difficulties in serialization. The manga has been licensed for North
American distribution by Tokyopop.

The series follows the story
of three young men hired by a mysterious company to participate in a
business game, in which companies gamble against each other for
corporate secrets.

It has also produced a Drama CD featuring the voices of Suzumura Kenichi, Suwabe Junichi, and Hiroki Takahashi.

An
anime adaptation of the manga premiered on the Japanese television
network KBS Kyoto between March 14 and March 28 of 2008, airing a total
of three episodes. It is directed by Naoyuki Kuzuya, produced by
Frontier Works, and animated by Studio Izena. The characters are voiced
by the same voice actors in the Drama CD.

Plot

An illegal
dog-fight conducted in strict secrecy, the Bus Game is a battle
simulation game where gamers are selected by various corporations to
compete three-on-three on a battleground which is usually inside Tokyo.
The teams are divided into "HOME" and "AWAY". The "HOME" team is given
a disk containing their corporation's secret files to protect while the
"AWAY" team attempts to steal the disk. The "AWAY" team wins if they
are able to steal the disk within the given time limit where the "HOME"
team wins if they are able to keep their disk safe.

The game
information and details are distributed to the gamers via mini-disk.
The businesses participating in the Bus Game wager large amounts of
money on each game, watching the action from a distance. In other
words, the Bus Games is a gambling pasttime in which the gamers are
pawns for their amusement.

In exchange for putting their lives
at stake, the gamers stand to gain large amount of money, through their
contracts and through winning each match of the Bus Game.

When
three complete strangers, Toki Mishiba, Nobuto Nakajyo, and Kazuo
Saitoh, are hired by a corporation to compete in the Bus Game, they are
given the team code of "Team AAA" (Triple Anonymous or No Name). This
group of three who differ entirely from their living environment and
values to protect each other’s lives --- but without mutually wiping
out their mistrust of each other or prying into each other's privacy,
it would be the worst sort of teamwork, conflicting in every way. They
only have one point in common, simply that each of them need a large
amount of money for their individual circumstances. And to get the
large monetary award, they must play in the game despite their very own
lives being at stake.

My Thoughts

What initially perked my interest was that this animé only has 3
episodes and so I thought I want to give it a try. Although it's pretty
much the same old clichés on the first episode, I still like the
thought of these hot bishies fighting together for money although their
reason has yet to be revealed (I hope so). The main characters are
pretty much strangers to each other although they coincidentally dined at the same restaurant, which also happens to be their favorite... I pretty much like Kazuo's
jolly personally though he really sucks at fighting (or maybe he's just
pretending to suck at it?...) Oh well, I'm pretty much waiting for the
3rd episode now although I hate to admit that it really sucks to end
only at 3 but I hope that it'll end with a blast...

-----

Bus Gamer at its end...sad but true...and yes, this one will definitely leave us - fans - with an
incomplete feel... the manga is only 1 volume
because "It only exists as a single volume 'Pilot Edition' due to
difficulties in serialization." (Wikipedia)
i doubt if it'll be picked up by another company and do another season
out of it since it's pretty much already been said in this series (or
so i thought) but still, i'll keep my hopes up that someday, the
mangaka would create a sequel to this one because it's such a shame to end it that way!

the final episode didn't leave a lasting impression on me except the fact
that i wasn't satisfied with how it all ended at all!...quite a
disappoinment and since i haven't read the manga nor found one, i guess
i'd never know if they got the prized money or not (though i think they
had a high probability of winning it)...and the real motive behind
joining the game wasn't revealed either so i guess i was expecting too
much out of a 24-minute final episode but on the brighter side, it
ended with the three bishies alive and well (a relief to the fans i
tell 'ya ) and maybe a promising friendship in the future?...that, i'll
leave to our imagination... oh well, so much for that "incomplete feel" i've
been mentioning about...now, it's really sinking in...the series is
over and done with.

now off to another animé!

cheers!

Plot Summary

In the romantic comedy
story, a high school girl named Kotoko finally tells a fellow senior
named Naoki that she has loved him from afar since she saw him on their
first day of high school. However, Naoki, a haughty "super-ikemen"
(handsome male) with smarts and sports talent, rejects her offhand.
Fate intervenes when a mild earthquake ruins Kotoko's family house.
While the house gets rebuilt, Kotoko and her dad stay at the home of
her dad's childhood friend...whose son is Naoki.

My Thoughts

I have read a few chapters of this manga...a pretty interesting story indeed
despite the manga's drawing. I was somehow hopeful
that the characters will look better in the animé version but I guess I
expected too much
but that won't keep me from watching the series to the end! It's
pretty interesting how things are going for Kotoko, who got rejected by
Naoki, which she ended up being his "house mate". Will they find love in
the end? That's for all of us to find out in the episodes to come.

Episode 3 turn out to be more than what i have expected...now i can no longer wait for episode 4 to come! Naoki isn't really that
bad although he could really be an ass sometimes but i think reading Kotoko's letter helped him shift his feelings towards herthough it served him right to be slapped by Kotoko for being so insensitive! but i was really surprised he remembered everything! genius aside, i really think he did it on purpose ne? isn't that just cute?! and i had to laugh about that mixed relay scene they had...poor Kotoko, she
can't helped but be mesmerized by Naoki's "super-ikemen" appeal!

Kure-nai (紅, Kurenai?) is
bodyguard

My Thoughts

It's interesting to note that although this series focuses on Kurenai's
struggle to become a reliable bodyguard while trying to lead a normal
high school life, the story itself is more serious and brutal than what
I initially thought it would be. Kuhouin's mature personality is kind
of refreshing although not at all surprising taking the fact that she
grew up in a rather "gloomy", "serious" environment. Her upbringing
must've been really tough for her to handle that is why she "escaped"
though I wonder how she managed to do it...maybe it'll be revealed in
the later series no?

-----

Murasaki can't help herself but feel cynical towards the things she saw
on the television back then with Tamaki because she never got to
experienced love and being loved back at all...that's why the outside
world seemed too big for her to handle and at times feel alienated with
everything else... except for Shinkuro that is...on the other note, she's just too cute
to be pitied nor get angry with ne? Her cynism coupled with her
blissful ignorance with what the real society is made her all the more
fun to watch and surely, that laboratory incident will never be
forgotten...poor child!

Although Yuuno is a bit flirtatious
towards Shinkuro, I never thought of her bad at all nor with his
childhood friend though unfortunately for her, Yuuno already has the
advantage over Shinkuro's affection... it's definitely love triangle in
the air although I find Shinkuro here at fault since he's just too
dense in sensing other peoples' feelings and more often,
unintentionally misunderstood all these things! He's sometimes just too
pure for his own good don't you think?

Yuuno caught my
attention on the 3rd episode...could she be a future foe perhaps? or
Shinkuro and Murasaki's destined ally? Though we only saw a little bit
of "action" in the last 3 episodes, this Yuuno girl isn't someone to
mess with considering that Shinkuro used to live with them and was
taught martial arts...Yuuno is definitely one formidable girl to
trample with. Overall, my satisfaction level for this animé is still
high though I wish there'll be more "action" than just talks in the
succeeding episodes to come.

Bartender (バーテンダー,
Bātendā?) is the title of a Japanese manga series written by Japanese
mangaka Araki Joh and illustrated by Kenji Nagatomo. Its focus is a
genius bartender who uses his world-class talents to ease the worries
and soothe the souls of troubled customers. The manga was first
serialized in the Japanese manga magazine Super Jump. The manga was
later adapted into an anime which began airing in Japan on October 15,
2006.

Plot

Bartender follows the nightlife of Ryū
Sasakura, a bartending prodigy who is said to mix the best cocktails
anyone has ever tasted. Sasakura bides his time in a bar named Eden
Hall, hidden in a nook of the Ginza district in downtown Tokyo. It is
said that normal people cannot simply find and enter Eden Hall, but
they must be invited in by the host. Over the course of the anime,
various figures of high and low stature, all of who share unusual
troubles and heavy burdens, are "invited" into Eden Hall and are
treated to Sasakura's fine drinks, which, with guidance from the young
bartender, lead the customers to reflect on their lives and decide on a
course of action to tackle with their problems.

My Thoughts

Although I have yet to see this series, I was quite intrigue with the
story which focuses on a particular bartender who gets to interact with
different kinds of "guests" who can only get into the bar by
invitation. Although it isn't common even in real life that these
things happened, I still wonder what makes this bar, this bartender so
special?I also find the main character "attractive" so that also
motivated me to download the series though I know that there's definitely more than just his looks.

My Thoughts

It's an action-packed tv series with a bit of drama on it. I'm very
impressed with the animation as well as the character designs. The
story's about a group of special individuals who fights against
supposedly "dead" people who transformed into "demoniacs" who can merge
with vehicles and suddenly goes "berserk"...killing everyone who gets
in their way . It's still a mystery what made these people the way they
are but certainly help is on the way because whenever these "demoniacs"
show - a hero, in a "demoniac" form comes into view and kills them though no
explanation were yet revealed on the series about it.

A lot of drama in this animé alright but it isn't that bad really
considering the kind of animation it has though i must say that it
tends to be a little bit boring sometimes but i'm too impressed with
the animation and the story is somehow interesting so it's hard to let
go...the OP is kinda tricky ne? thought it was about racing too
although the protagonist are also into motorcycles but that's not
really the point...we'll see what episode 3 will be like...i ain't
giving up my hope yet

Nijū Mensō no Musume
(二十面相の娘, Nijū Mensō no Musume? lit. Daughter of the 20-Faces) is a
Japanese manga series written and illustrated by manga author Shinji
Ohara. The manga was serialized in the seinen manga magazine Comic
Flapper between 2002 and 2007, but continued serialization in the same
magazine with the title Nijū Mensō no Musume Utsushiyo no Yoru since
October 5th, 2007. An anime adaptation started broadcast on April 12,
2008, and is being co-produced by Bones and Telecom Animation Film.
Story

Chiko,
who had been leading a lonely life because her aunt is trying to kill
her, is kidnapped by the Phantom Thief Nijū-Mensō (20-Faces) and set
out an adventure into the strange world. She gradually changes as she
encounters new friends and places. But strange events start happening
revolving around the mystery of "Legacy of the 20-Faces". So Chiko has
to move forward, regardless on how checkered her life will become.

My Thoughts

Kinda reminded me of Lupin III but this is way darker than the
latter. It's kinda interesting that our heroine is somehow saved
from her "lonely" life by a thief who only furthers her
anxienties...talk about irony but it's better than getting killed
right?
I wonder if she'll set out her revenge on that aunt of hers...well,
that's what we'll find out...and btw, she's cute...kinda reminded me of
Haruhi (Ouran High School Host Club)

OP and ED aside, this anime's definitely worth watching for! And just
as I previously mentioned, this anime does remind me of Lupin III though Nijū-Mensō (Twenty Faces) is much more sexier than the latter (I still love you Lupin!
) The 1st episode seemed to be slow-paced at first, focusing on Chiko
and her attitude towards her family though it'll be revealed later on
as to why. Honestly, I would have hated her had I not read the plot of
this animé beforehand but even so, her so-called "tantrums" kind of
annoyed me still...well, she's just a child after all. Throughout the
episode, I kept on wondering how Nijū-Mensō would get to her and obviously I had not anticipated that it would be that kind butler (seriously forgotten that he did the same when he took that Angel Box on the first scene...baka me ) overall, it's a sort of happy ending on the first episode but Chiko's adventure has even yet to start...
