First of all, let me say...there is no episode 07, it was a DVD-only release in Japan, and it wont be coming to AMerica, nor do any fansubbers have plans to get it and sub it. I heard it was nonessental to the story anyhow, so...

Horo shows her intellect again here, at the merchant's place, though I think like Lawrence...though I like having that extra cash, I'd rather not alienate my future buyers by cheating them.

...and lets not foget that Horo gets completely wasted in this episode.

theres actually not really that much in this episode...basically they sell their spices, get armor in return, and travelon the road.

Interesting character, that shepherd...

Sorry about the long delay, I've been busy, too busy to really do anything. But I've finished 06 now, and I can make the post.

This is the first time we get to see Horo's true form. And it's sexy. Not the same type of sexy you would call someone, but the kind of sexy you'd call a sportscar, or a brand new computer. that kind of sexy...

How she fights off their attackers shows her strength and resolve for the fight. She pwns all those people, and probably left no major fatalities. she almost went crazy for Chloe though, which I would have hated to see...I kind of like Chloe, even though she was being a bitch about turning them in to the church and all. She's very temperamental about her form though, and keeps walking away after the fight. It seems she is angry that she has to defend Lawrence as much as he defends her, although she realizes that it is necessary for their survival.

At first I though......

Episode 05 - Wolf and Lover's Quarrel

Who is the mystery figure at the beginning? Does Horo recognize her?

I didn't care for the really long exposition in this episode, but I see it as necessary. This episode is particularly story driven, at least in the first half.

Interesting how horo takes control of the rescue as soon as the flagstone is opened to let her through. And the mystery figure is Chloe, red hair, female voice, and that mask. Interesting...

And Horo is kind of..."strange" with her emotions and behaviors. Angry and vengeful, to sad and dejected, to cheerful and playful all in the same minute. She cries again in this episode. She's becoming more and more attached to Lawrence, methinks.

Watching Ep. Six asap, this is exciting.

I knew Zeiren’s story had a stink to it. Bah…at least they are getting something out of it, hopefully.

We finally learn more of Lawrence’s story too. He dreams of opening up a shop somewhere, and he thinks that the profit from the Milone deal will help him do it.

OOOH more character development. Horo shows her past, why she wants to travel with other people so fiercely, why she helps Lawrence even though he is somewhat rude to her (I understand he is running a business, but still…). She misses her companions, centuries lost, and the fear of being alone is something she tries very hard to keep hidden. That Lawrence is able to wrest this emotion from her is telling of her growing attachment to him. The symbology of him using his drawing of his store could also be a sign of the things to come.

The chase scene was kind of cool, and not quite expected. How did the Medioh Company know that Lawrence knew of the plan?

......

Episode 03 - Wolf and Business Sense

I haven’t realized this till now, but…Horo looks more like a fox than a wolf while in her human form. I’m pondering as to whether this is a deliberate artist conception or just my mind.

Another thing I noticed is how much I like the backgrounds in this one. Viewing the city of Pattsio from above and seeing all the background buildings is awesome.

Again we see Horo’s liking for food, but this time she makes use of herself tricking the merchant into buying the furs at a higher price than was expected. Her wit shines again.

Zeiren’s story has a stink to it. I get the sense in it, and it seems to be veritable, but still; it doesn’t seem right.

Now I know this is nothing to do with her wit, but it seems to me that having Horo around is becoming more and more beneficial, what with the silver coin thing. Perhaps she can earn her full keep back before reaching the forest.

Watching......

Episode 02 - Wolf and Distant Past

More fan service…just kidding. Well, sort of.

Here we get to see a glimpse as to Horo’s character. She’s playful and witty, as well as wise. We also see a bit of her weak side--she has a love of human food like no other. Perhaps this could be important later? She’s a bit dense too--she says she’s choked on potatoes in the past too, and yet here she choking on them AGAIN. Perhaps we should be called Horo the Intuitive, not “the Wise”…

Lawrence is a realist, most likely because of his profession. He says it like it is, nothing else. He is also very shrewd, demanding that Horo pay him back for the things she is taking. He seems afraid of the church…perhaps the church is repressive of his merchanting.

More later when I finish episode three.

Lawrence is a travelling merchant who frequents the village because of their wheat. The village is/was protected by the wolf goddess, Horo the Wise. Due to mankind's natural technological progression, however, Horo's benevolence is no longer needed. She decides to hitch a ride with Lawrence and get a ride from him to the Northen Forest, her home.
