The other best way to speed up your file download from bittorrent server by torrent client applications is manage your router modem which had a module called "port forwarding" or a title like that.

The way to manage this port number determine to the port number you used at your torrent client apps. Lets used my number for example, 6996, which I put at my BitCommet for UDP and TCP port listener configuration (Connection - Listen Port).

Go to your router modem and search for a sound like "port forwarding" (am using Aztech modem, this menu is under "Application" menu). Pay attention that you're work under your IP value (by the default, it was). Create a new rule like "bitcommet" under "user" profile. Make sure a TCP-UDP Protocols option was choosen. Write down the port value (6996) at "Port Start", "Port End", and "Port Map" fields. Commit your changes and save this new rule for your router......

Half-open limit

By the default, your TCP connections are limited to a maximum of 10. This prevent you connect to amount of ip numbers, and this is a part to speed up your download.

The best way to fix this is download a TCPIP.SYS patch file (here) then execute it. Change the current value with any numbers (100 max).

Its worth to try!
