The migration of my people is a long-term phenomenon, and although its beginnings are in middle age can say that there has been more painful in the twentieth century.

We went for many years a people who have left their country to seek a better life, especially to give our children the chance to have a better future. The major countries have been central America, South America and Europe (Germany, France, England ,...). This boom in place over much of the twentieth century, significantly in 1973 due to the great oil crisis. Today we remain a nation of emigration, although the numbers have declined significantly since Spain entered the European Economic Community in 1986 and entails the economic boom.

In 1964 my parents due to economic difficulties facing left Spain and went to Germany.

Two years later I was born.

During my first 4 years with my grandparents lived in Spain. And then they took me with them.

In 1990, after my studies decided it was time to return to Spain.

Since I use reason and returned to Spain until he finds the always expressing sadness and longing for their faces to be away from their homeland.

This post I dedicated to all those who are far from home, for all those who are immigrants and immigrants from my country.

The words and the song is to honor them for their courage:

It was already late in the cold night of the big city
returned home when suddenly
I saw light in a bar,
no doubt about it, it was cold, in between,
I felt as if suddenly out of another country,
those people, that music, new to me,
an old man approached me and told me:

Come toast with Greek wine from my native land,
red wine that I will remember
a white town
that it leaves behind the sea.

Come toast with Greek wine and I will sing,
old songs that make us dream
with the time for returning to the home.

They told me of the day, they had to leave,
how parents, siblings and girlfriends were there,
There was the heart of them all.
Perhaps one day the luck will come to smile,
soon nobody will remember who was here
and returns to white people, at home.

Come toast with Greek wine from my native land,
red wine that I will remember
a white town
that it leaves behind the sea.

Come toast with Greek wine and I will sing,
old songs that make us dream
with the time for returning to the home.

Ven a brindar

ven a brindar

Ven a brindar

ven a brindar
con vino griego y te voy a cantar
viejas canciones que nos hacen soñar
con el momento de volver al hogar

You made me cry today with your post and nice song. I left myself my country and this post is very painful for me. My daughter came with me, but my parents are far at home and it is very hard to realize that they are old and may be not so much of their lives is left and I cannot be with them in this time.

A lot of people left Moldova and went around the world. They were looking for a better life. But with this hard economical situation in the world they are the first who feel hurt by it. A lot of them left home not only their parents, but their small children too.Thank you for your post.
