We all know that the disks fragment every now and then. As we remove files are small holes in our hard disk. The problem is that Windows see these holes as free space to store data. Worse still, if the space is smaller than the size of file storage, which saved between Windows and put the rest in some other distant place on your hard disk. The result? Over time, further delay to access files and programs. Windows runs a 'rule' where does this. The amount of free space must be 512 KB or more. What we have found is a small change in the register that will allow us to raise this limit to force Windows to look for a bigger hole where to put the data.
Let's take this limit to 2 MB. To do this we open Regedit and we go: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / System / CurrentControlSet / Control / File System]. Create a new DWORD value with the name ConfigFileAllocSizer and he put the value in decimal 2048. Close all, reboot and ready. Eye! Our disk will run out of space soon, we will have to return to desfrag every now and then.
This trick will be very useful in the event that any programme prompted to configure the screen with another resolution is different from that usually using all manner more quickly than if entered in the Display Properties. The trick will be to make a call to: DESKCP16.DLL, passing parameters: QUICKRES_RUNDLLENTRY RHxRVxPC. QUICKRES_RUNDLLENTRY: Specify the DLL that we want to change the screen resolution. RH: Width (eg 800) RSV: High (600) PC: Depth of color in bits (eg 32) The call is made by RUNDLL.EXE therefore we can create a shortcut and tell you have to execute: RUNDLL.EXE
DESKCP16.DLL, QUICKRES_RUNDLLENTRY 800x600x32 With the above example create a shortcut that we change the screen resolution to 800x600 and 32-bit color depth. As the change takes place in a manner and without asking for immediate confirmation, check the manual for your graphics card and monitor resolutions that support

Converting files fat32 to NTFS
|
|
You have two partitions, one has to fat32, and the other with ntfs, then they can not be compatible and the only solution is to move partition fat32 to ntfs, so you should press the Start button. Run, run and write cmd and press the OK button.
A window MS-DOS, which you must type CD .. And press Enter as many times as necessary to stay in C: \> then write this: convert c: / fs: ntfs (c remain: the drive letter you want to convert).
A message will tell you that you can not do the conversion because the disk is in use.
You can hit N and will ask if you want when you are converting again reboot. Now click Yes to restart your computer and converting the file system will be executed.
And what system you appreciate, because that computer works best with this file system.

How to save outlook express formatting? (W2K and WXP)
|
|
Problem: We want to format the S.O. And re-install the same, but we do not want to lose all those emails work, jokes, affections of the couple, and so on. How?
The first thing is to keep data from the email account. Many enter the information when you first set up your account and then forget even having seen this data. To do so, in Outlook Express we will go to Tools / Accounts, select the mail account you want to preserve (repeat the process as many times as we want to save accounts), and give you a "Export". This will generate a file IAF with the account details
Once formatted, in the same menu, we have no more than 'Import' account (IAF select the file generated in the previous step) and we already have the account.
But that's not all. We want to preserve the messages and folders now fully divided and orderly as it had. Okay. It is feasible backing up files on the outlook "at once", and if install the same OS (Ie same explorer), you can simply "replace" the files.
To save and restore files should copy of the directory
C: Documents and SettingsXXXXXXXConfiguración localDate of programmIdentities (C123221D-54F8-470D-BBA9-16C889E3BE3D) MicrosoftOutlook Express
XXXXXXXXX where is the name of the user. NOTE: the CLSID (the blemish of letters and numbers after "Identities") is different in each case. Do not be worth the copy you step.
These files are called, depending on the version, language, etc., with names like "Inbox. Dbx", "output tray.Dbx," "My Private Folder.Dbx" you can copy / paste them where they want (not to have gone home Formatting!), and then, after reinstalling, revert to copy within the same directory.
NOTE: The order of factors can alter the product. This is the correct order:
1 .- Save Account (export IAF)
2 .- Save dbx files and others in safety.
3 .- Reinstall, formatting, and so on.
4 .- Launch Outlook Express and import account IAF (and close the application)
5 .- copy files dbx and others at the same directory (it may have changed the CLSID)
6 .- Contemplation wonder how there are intact, your emails and folders forever.
... Ooookeyyy, steps 1 and 2 can be exchanged that does not affect ... But not the rest, eh?
... And step 6 is only for those who have not done this before ...
Well, not if if you have liked, next week I write a few more if it is.
A strong greetings to all.
