Walter Cronkite, a twentieth-century icon, passed away recently. He was famouse for the way he brought a newscast to a close.

"And that's the way it is..." he would say. It's horrible to say but shouldn't his epitaph read: "And that's the way it was..."

Descartes was a French philosopher in the 14th century. Although he made many valuable contributions to the sciences, like solving geometric problems with algabraic equations, he's probably best remembered for this quote: "I think, therefore I am." Shouldn't his epitaph read: "I thought, therefore I was."

Download Rate over 2000 Kb/s !!!

I had a download rate of over 2200kb/s today. It was around 1500 when I closed all other tasks to see what the extra resources would do; then, the dl peaked at over 2200Kb/s.

I enjoy learning about the many variables involved with achieving a secure, stable and fast dl/ul rate. Do you?

My Fastest DL Rate Screenshot (almost 2000Kb/s)!

The above screenshot is actually a little slower than the peak DL speed, which was 1885Kb/s. I personally have never seen a dl rate that fast. As you see there are only about 12 active tcp connections and both udp connections were'nt working. This was after I'd pasted some trackers in from another dl, so before that most trackers had returned about 200 peers and the DHt network had returned like a thousand or so (I think :).

I do a fair amount of tweaking on my pc itself and the connection and the most recent was within Bitcomet. I increased the Cache BC uses to a 150MB. Without a lot more time and scenerios it's hard......
