In ancient times, China was a divided country racked by endless
wars. Countless kingdoms, big and small, battled for supremacy. Two
such rival kingdoms, Yan and Zhao, had been at war for many years.
During a critical battle, the Yan General Muyong Xuehu manages to lead
his army to a surprise victory against the Zhao army. But in the midst
of battle, the Yan King, Yan Xiangtian, is assassinated by his
ambitious nephew, Wu Ba. The late king has only one daughter and no
male heirs. Wu Ba who is next in the line for succession, stands to
inherit the throne.
