Greetings! I'm quite pleased with the number of people who decited to read my first post and I hope that most of them benefited from it, so I decited to write a second one and try to tell you how I bypass ip-blocks and time delays on sites like rapidshare or megavideo.
I know that the people who make these sites want to make a profit and I know a few people (me included) who are willing to pay for their services, but after my account expired I actually found out how to bypass the time delay inbetween downloads.
All you have to do is to get a reliable proxy. Now I know that many of you will be like: "Sure... but I don't want to download stuff with speeds under 1kBs." That is why I said that you need a RELIABLE proxy. One of these proxies is HotspotShield (SEE UPDATE2) Once you install their software, you get a relatively fast proxy that lets you download through rapishare at acceptable speeds and EVEN WATCH MOVIES THROUGH MEGAVIDEO live. Sometimes the connection hangs, but hey... it's free and you get by much faster than without it. Now you don't have to use this proxy, but this is the only provider I know that offers such reliable and fast connections. If you know fast(er) proxies, please share them with me!
UPDATE: Writing this entry made me think about proxy programms so I did a little searching and found Proxy Switcher. If you find a server with a response faster than 4000ms then you can use it instead of HotspotShield.
UPDATE 2: Hotspotshield BLOCKED MEGAVIDEO! Therefore it is no longer possible to use it for the purpose described earlier. However, you can continue using Proxy Switcher, Elite Proxy Switcher (for firefox) and simmilar programs. I recommend Elite Proxy Switcher since it is freeware and easy to maintain. I usually update my proxy list manually with proxies I find with google. You might actually find using these programs even more convenient than using hotspotshield, because you know the response-times of the proxies before you start using them.
Also, some of you might use dsl or some other connection that runs directly through your phone. In this case you could actually try to just restart your connection and it should change your IP (thus enabling further downloading/watching). You could also try to write a *.bat file to change your IP automatically by running it:
1. open notepad from START>>RUN (and type "notepad" without quotes)
2. paste:
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
3. save as somefilename.bat (make sure that the icon does not look like a notebook, if it does than you have to uncheck "Hide known filetype extensions" in the folder-options in windows explorer and remove the *.txt extension of the file)
Now you can change your IP by running the bat file (but only if you have the right connection-type... just test it out and you'll know if it works).
Ok, now that we have dealt with the IP and can change it whenever we are told to wait, we also no not want to be sitting at the computer and waiting for the next download opportunity. For this you could use several programs (like US_downloader) where you simply enter the list of files you need to download, but my favorite is RapidDownload. Not only that it has all the futures you need to download stuff from rapidshare, but the people who wrote it allready thought about the possibility of using a proxy for the downloads and made the program run an "IP_changer.bat" inbetween downloads. You can set this file to do what you want. I made it run my Hotspotshield programm by typing:
"C:\InsertPathTo\openvpntray.exe"
sleep -m 5000
echo on
OK
(with the quotes)
You could also set the IP_changer.bat to change your connection like the file I've described earlier. Once you have set this up, you just need to save the file(download) list in the program's text file and you are ready to go (just read the manual).
So this is how I download from rapidshare without waiting, watch megavideo without waiting (except when the proxy kinda hangs ;) and do not have to sit at the computer when downloading from rapidshare automatically.
