Raise Your Rank Quickly
Quick steps
(I'll post a walk through when I have time)
- Register to bitcomet and get a user name and password
- Change your upload and download settings in bitcomet. Make sure they are both unlimited.
- Your Upload speed is porportionally set by bitcomet and effects your download speed. EX: if you set your d/l speed to unlimited and you limit your upload speed to 40kb per secound it will EFFECT your D/l speed dramatically.
- Google Bitcomet speed guides. They will tell you exactly what to modify in your bitcomet preferences. (I dont have time at the moment to walk through all the modifications) Some one on a forum has written a complete guide. I'll give link out in the near future; hopefully, with in a week or 2. before Christmas tho.
- Usually speed programs for bitcomet are usually scams and shams so dont d/l them. They also usually contain viruses and backdoors.
- First check all your connections from the modem, to your computer. I always find BAD connections and problems there.
- *optional check your dsl/cable speed on a site to make sure your dsl/cable speed is running at optimal preformance for your price you paid for. (note: cable is usually faster and more reliable due to the fact that the line can go further with coaxial cable.) Speeds greatly differ from the package you have and how far you are from your nearest service provider.
- Tweak your registry to get the BEST OPTIMAL preformance for your modem and computer. This site has best registry tweaks
http://www.pctools.com/guides/registry/
- Try to turn off some of your background programs that you dont use. press Ctrl alt delete and go to your applications tab and turn off all the junk programs your not using. *advance users can go to the process tab and turn off processes that are not in use. (if you want to COMPLETELY stop some programs from your startup then go to start>programs>startup. Make sure the programs you want at startup are there. All the junk that you dont want feel free to remove. *quicker way is go to start>run>type in the box: msconfig
Turn off all the stuff that you dont want at the startup. It finds some spyware that you can turn off at your startup.
- With all these modifycation I have increased my speeds up to 500kb/s with an average of 300kbs to 200kb/s.
- Things to do to really rack up the points
- The more your computer is on and seeding then the more points you will be able to get. You max out at 120 per day.
- It's easy to get to that many points. Leave your computer on during the night and usually you fill those points by the morning.
- The best is to have a crap computer and make it into a d/l machine and then turn it into a server.
- The only bad thing about all this is that when you want to playgames you have to turn it off, or modify your upload/ download settings. (I dont recomend this. I'd rather die w/o lagg then with a crap load of lagg)
I'LL DO A FULL WALKTHROUGH LATER...
