BitComet Score, Ranks and Levels for Registered User (Benefit of P2SP)

BitComet registered user can benefit from faster download through P2SP. When a registered user moves higher up the rank, more P2SP connections (more resources – see explanation below) could be established, maximizing potential download speed.

 

P2SP works well when a registered user’s shared torrents are offline through long-time (LT) seeding. Thus, a registered user will find that the download speed through long-time seeding is faster especially for popular/frequently downloaded torrents. P2SP works in BitComet only and not other torrent clients. So, even if the popular/frequently downloaded torrents have no seed, P2SP allows the torrents to be completely downloaded from another registered user who has the complete files without requiring the respective user to start the upload process.

 

Thus, as the name LT implies, it helps to keep the torrents alive even though the seeders have gone offline. This will prevent the torrent from becoming obsolete so soon unless the torrent is deleted or no longer shared by peers.

 

As for the calculation of score for registered user, the maximum score that the respective user can achieve in a day is 120 points.  

 

The detailed scoring basis is explained below.

 

1. By keeping BitComet client online for 10 hours, a registered user can generate a maximum of 20 points, which is 2 points per hour.

 

2. By uploading files through BitTorrent protocol can generate 1 point per 10MB with a maximum of 100 points per day. This is equivalent to 1000MB of upload the day.

 

3. The score will get refresh every 24 hours.   As for the different levels in BitComet, level consists of the symbols; comet, moon and star. 

 

  • Star denotes by the symbol , is the basis of the calculation.
  • Moon denotes by the symbol , is equivalent to 4 stars, i.e. .
  • Comet denotes by the symbol , is equivalent to 16 stars, i.e. or 4 moons, i.e. . 
  • The highest rank a registered user can achieve is 48, which carries the title Marshal.

 

The summary of the scoring in BitComet is shown in the table below with the corresponding rank and level.

Do you now what means "persistent seed" it shows when i am on downloading.

Persistent seed and long time seed is the same thing. You can actually turn off LT seed or limit the bandwidth usage in the option menu. However, it is not recommended to turn off LT seed because you will not gain from having faster download through p2sp.

Yeah but you dont get upload points for that because its just uploading behind you back

The score gimmick takes three years of upping 1 gig a day for the program to work at it's best. That makes me want to use a different program.

This is frekking retarded. WHy should I even bother using bitcomet if another torrent program can download faster? I am going to sites that allow a 1000KB/S download rate and BitComet is only letting 170KB/S into my PC. WDF

i know am going to get all kinds of flak for this at the momement am a second Lieutenant but i think we are all missing the point i thought we were on here to share so why worry if your a private or a marshall as long as you down load and up load why worry am not
