Scripted by Stewart and Peter Schink, the thriller casts Bettany as the archangel Michael, the only one
standing between mankind and an apocalypse, after God loses faith in
humanity. Man's lone hope rests with a group of strangers who must
deliver a baby they realize is Christ in his second coming.
According the scripts Archangel are the most powerful of God's angel. Lucifer was one of the archangel and a powerful one in that case, he rebelled against God because he was ordered to obey mankind. To him man was imperfect and an abomination, he could not stand this and hence the rebellion.
God order Michael to strike down Lucifer and that he did, sending him to hell for all eternity but that was and has never been the last of Lucifer. His anger and rage towards God and his angels leads to the coming of the apocalyps.
This is a must watch movie hope it will be awesome.
