To us in the "know" its basic sense, but some newbies unfamiliar with the workings of torrent sites or engines really dont know what they could be infecting their system with. My brother's notebook was teeming with viruses adware trojans etc, which he got by simply downloading what he wanted and installing it... Which leads me to write down some basic advice about prevention of this easily avoided situation. 1. BEFORE DOWNLOADING THE FILE LOOK AT THE COMMENTS POSTED.You can save yourself some time and hassle simply by looking at what others say about the file like "this is a fake" and "virus..do not download". I mean if that does'nt tell you something i dont know what will!...2. ANY MOVIEFILE THAT REQUIRES A SPECIAL CODEC IS USUALLY BULLSHIT THEY WILL DIRECT YOU TO A SITE TO FILL OUT PRODUCT INFO CRAP, INFECT YOU WITH ADWARE  AND YOU WILL STILL NOT GET THE FICTICIOUS CODEC.This is usually in the user comments as well. But its still worth knowing just in case you download one of these; not to bother with trying to get the so-called Codec by clicking on the url that comes with the download. 3. BEFORE OPENING YOUR DOWNLOADED FILES REMEMBER TO CHECK THEM WITH YOUR ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE THIS CAN BE DONE WITH MOST ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE BY RIGHT CLICKING ON THE FILE THEN SCANNING IT. 4. REMEMBER TO KEEP YOUR ANTIVIRUS AND ANTISPYWARE ON TOP FORM BY REGULARLY UPDATING. Try to get decent anti virus and antispyware software. If you are using a security suite with antispyware then its still worth having a seperate antispyware programme, like spyware Doctor which is an exellent antispyware program that monitors your pc in real time.
