I agree that the Admins and developers screwed the pooch. I am also a developer in real life. We never move code into an active environment without testing it in a development environment first. 2-5% rejection rate is the norm in the industry. From what I have been seeing, these guys rejection rate is around 30-40%. Not good. Not good. If I were reviewing their resume and saw that they were working on this product, I would not hire them.
We have a saying here in America. If you bite once, shame on you. If you bite me twice, shame on me.
This is not the first time the Weekend Box screwed up. So, shame on developers and admins, because they knew players would take advantage of it. Therefore, they should have been extra careful to make sure it would not screw up.
If they lost revenue because nobody took the 89 gold box, that is too bad.
Also, I know, as do the developers, that a role back is not 100%. With their track record we will be lucky to recover 80% of what we had when and if they took backups before the Weekend Box was Activated.
