This will help u get a green Light please stop emailing me thanks

1. Restart your computer in Safe Mode. To do this, follow these steps:

* Restart your computer. Before you see the Windows XP logo, hold down the F8 key.

* Select Safe Mode.

2. Login in as Administrator. You'll get a warning about running in Safe Mode. Click Yes.

3. Find the folder whose permissions you wish to change. Right click on that folder, and select Properties.

4. Go to the sharing tab

5. Click Do not share this folder

6. Repeat for all folders

7. Restart computer like normal

If i were you i would password my modem firewall u can do this by

1.Going to Summary

2.Network at a Glance

3.Set system password

I hope u have An Anti-Virus if not go to http://avast.com/eng/programs.html

3. Select cookies and in the drop down box select Every Time i Close firefox

4. the colume under that says private data check both boxes and click settings when it opens check all the boxes and click done

5. Then go to the Advanced tab

6. Then Network tab

7. And then change the cache size 2 150 mb

The steps i have provided above will work for all sharing programs all u need is the port number all i have done is provide u with the things i do with all the computers i work on. This is a step by step for putting them into the firewall and taking them out

To remove

1. Return to firewall settings

2. Click Maximum protection – Disallow unsolicited inbound traffic.

3. Click Done at the bottom

4. Restart your computer

Lastly, make sure you're not sharing anything that you don't want to share. You can check by going to Start > Run> and typing "file://127.0.0.1".

If u are sharing Files u can do these steps 2 block them

(write down the file that are shared)

U will need to forward the both to get the green light

1. Go to View firewall summary

2. Then go to Firewall Settings

3. 1Select a computer

Choose the computer that will host applications through the firewall:

( All the computers in your house have a name you must select the name of the computer the program will be on To find the name of your computer follow these steps)

A. Right click on My Computer

B. Go to Properties

C. Go to Computer name

D. Under Full Computer Name It Will say the name of the computer

4. After u have that select it in the drop down box

5. Next go to Add a new user-defined application

6. Enter BitComet under application name

7. Under Port (or Range): Put the port number in both From And To

8. Then click Add Application

9. Then go back 2 Firewall settings

10. Select the computer name again

11. Go to the list of applications select BitComet

12. Then click Add ( U will see the name BitComet under Hosted Applications)

13. Then click Done at the bottom

If u have the software for your router your router is firewalled u need to go it to the settings and open a port (the default is 22041) Most modems need to be open also u Might be able to use this web address(HTTP://192.168.0.1) in Internet Explorer if this address does not work u need to call the company that u got your modem from and get the address for your firewall settings for the modem u need to host the Application BitComet and also use the Default port (22041) once u have opened the port in the modem then u should be able to get a green light in BitComet in doing this u are opening a gateway in to your computer <when doing this u can open yourself up to Hackers so i would disable this when BitComet is not in use > this is what i did and successively got a green light

Also u my need to change your settings in BitComet go to the options and look at your settings your typ.sys settings need to be opened to 200 instead of 10 and u may want to get a program call Tuneup 2007 this will help speed up your computer for internet settings just go to system optimization and use the program to change your internet speed it will recommend what needs to be change and give u a list of changes <i use this program all the time and recommend it 2 it is a great cleanup and memory cleaning program it Will help speed up the computer for normal everyday use > ( u also may wanna get a program call CCleaner this program will clean all the save internet cookies on your computer freeing up space also it is a free program that u can download off the internet just google the name
