you are forgettinng ABP (ad block plus) - or sometyhing of similar ilk. Firefox does not have a host file like IE - it handles that function differently, which still leaves the threaty of some Vundorful little ass virus getting to your pc.

I test for Mozilla, now running 'Gran Paradiso" as they ceased 'Minefield'- ABP as well as themes (most), the sidebar, piclens (oooh, ahhh) and a fewrandom others. All work well, and HOLY SMOKES EVEN AS A TESTER FIREFOX IS RELENTLESSLY EASY AND PREDICTABLE.

bOTTOM LINE, ie 7 & 8 ONLY try TO FUNCTION LIKE fIREFOX, YET THEY CAN ONLY BE CHEAP, POOIRLY FUNCTIONING CLONES...

Good example: have both- open http://torrent-finder.net 1st in IE, time how long it takes to load, then try in Firefox... I do say i nare shat myself in seeing the diff. My connection is 15meg, my PC is standard Dell Toaster w/select upggrades, and I HATE AOL AND ALL ITS MEMBERS, so you know MY advice is solid gold.

hell yeah, firefox w/ ad block plus or equivalent, as they STOP that stuff from happenning even if it makes iot far enough to work in the first place in the fF enviromnment, and not to be a dick or anything, but not just this virus is malware, but ALL of them, any MALiscous softWARE is malware. Dear lord people protect yourselves. Get a BO blocker like Comodos or spybots tea timer (and pay attantion to it). get ONE good Antivirus (avast is free AND heavy duty) ONE good firewall (even if its windows dont duoble up- you WILL have problems, even if you didnt realize you were) and TWO good spyware programs (wont hurt nothing but malware :-)

And for the LOVE OF PETE check the comments on each download if there are any to be sure. To even play a file long enough for it to say Go here download this to watch movie is long enough to deliver a maliscious kludge. Finally- don't use AOL its trash, just spend some time and figure out how to work your damned pc like every one else.
