If your talking about the WAN IP address being different maybe it's because you have a Dynamic IP, but that shouldn't matter if you opened your listen port and assigned your pc an IP, if on a router.

your wireless modem might have a built in router or firmware you can configure I know mine does, have you tried to connect to it?
like put in your address bar 192.168.1.1 or whatever it is for your model.

forgot to mention your IP to the router may be different, and depending on the browser your using you may have to try another, i had this problem with IE...
192.168.1.1 is the standard default
