Check your BitComit settings, it controls bandwith between up and downloading. It can actually prevent full speed on downloading, and LIMIT you to a preset limit. (Like 20kbs) Useing compression in your Modem's settings can also speed your session.
there is a file you can download that has photo's of the settings in BitComit that if you use as they have suggested, will speed up BitComit considerably.
search for: "Increase UTorrent speed SEP 2008 100% Work.rar" on BitComit sites.
Also, look for a program called "Cablenut" it has a exelent following of devoted users.
Right click on the file you downloaded, (Within the Tourent program,) and go to the site it is being hosted on. (Person providing the file.) see if they have left instructions. Some of the time they place a pass word on the file, but post the pass word in the discription of that file. (Common for P2P programs.)
Hope it helps, but a lot of these people who are giving access to there files, have them saved on a NTFS partition table, some of these files may be protected by there Operation System. (OS) If this is the case, it is locked by there USER logon ID. (There user id and password.)
I would like to speak to the Proggrammer of BitComet, (and a great C++ one at that!) to explore my "Idea" and transmit 1MBs over a standard 56k connection. (I have done much more, like 250MB in less than 20 seconds.)
I'd do myself, if I had no limitations.
