Do you have an equivalent celebration?
I mean here(England)it's percieved as an Americanism assimilated into the English psyche and pretty much an marketing man's dream.
It's an occasion for louts/thugs/vandalls/nere'do'wells to egg people and their homes for itinerant juveniles to call and threaten and intimidate the more gullible and fragile of society to part with perhaps more than just a bag of sweets.
For parents to induct their children to the evils of extortion and the ways of obtaining things through deception and disingenuosness.
But I don't want to become too boring!
