why do you want to download from a shared torrent, you should download it directly from the torrent site.
Always select a torrent which has many seeds, when you download a torrent click on download now button in bitcomet, it takes a little while for the trackers to connect and start downloading, also forward your ports.
Sometime useless stuff is downloaded which is discarded after hash check, that is why more stuff is downloaded than the file size, or if you are connected to many peers than same stuff is downloaded from more than one peer.

After you download then you become a seed which means that ou are sharing the file with other peers, you can stop it by pressing the stop button, but it is good if you share at least till the share ratio is 1.5

Just forward your ports properly so that the green light is on and also keep your download speed unlimited, even if you uninstall and reinstall bitcomet the settings remain the same

Read the posts that Christara has suggested, also do not try to download too many downloads at one time, also the download speed limit should be set to unlimited
