Ummm, you want the green light, the green light generally means that your listening port is not blocked by anything and you can get all of the connections. Like when I had the yellow light, I couldnt get any remote connections, all I had were local ones.

Actually by the way, I suddenly have the yellow light again. These past few weeks I have had the green light, but suddenly my step-dad comes back from his trip and I have the yellow light again. He claims he didnt do anything to the modem or router, an all I did was go onto the modem and set the modem to forward his listening port along with mine. I have checked and it still has mine set to forward to the router, and that nothing has changed really, but I still have the yellow light for some reason. Its starting to get aggrivating again.

I tried putting my router into bridged mode, but I didnt really know how to set up everything for that, so it didnt really end well. I ended up resetting it back to the way it was. I ended up findng some FAQs from my ISP and was able to use the port forwarding on the modem (even though the firewall is off oddly enough) and set it up, so now I have a green light. I had tried to do the port forwarding before on the modem, but apparently I had put in the wrong IP for it to forward to, so now everything is running fine for the moment =D

Thanks for all the help

Ok I got a little bored and decided to start doing something today. I have been trying to look up some information, but have not been very successful. My modem is a speedstream 4200, which was given to me when I changed my ISP. I figured out how to get into the modem itself, and it seems that it can also be used as a router and it has a firewall in it, but it was off so I dont really know what to do. I also tried looking up how to setup the modem as a bridge network, but I havent really found too much that was helpful. I found that my modem can be set to bridge only mode, but it doesnt give any informtion on how to do it. If you could possibly give me some information on how to set it as bridged mode, I would be very grateful.

Thank you for the info. Again, right now I have just returned from a very stressful and tiring trip, so I will check that stuff out probably tommorow when I'm feeling less tired. I had thought that it might be my new ISP or the maybe the new modem, but I wasnt entirely sure so I was trying everything else also.

Well I am pretty sure I have set my router right, because I have messed with it so many times, many more then I would have liked to. I dont know about having any other firewalls on my computer, but in a little bit ill start checking through stuff and seeing about it. Even though I am pretty sure that I set it right, I will probably try to take out my router, but I dont really have an opportunity to do so right now. Right now, I just think my new ISP has its own annoying firewall, because that just seems like the most likely thing since I have opened up everything else.

And yeah, I do have a static IP for my computer =D

Thanks for the website, I checked it out and it said my port was blocked. When you say "find the firewall" are you talking about possible other firewalls that might be running on my system? because I know my current firewall is the Trend Micro Internet Security one, and I opened both my listen port and Bitcomet the program in it, and I have already opened my listen port on my router. My current listen port is in the range that I have seen recommended, which is 49152 and 65534, but if you have any suggestions on if I should change my listen port number and what I should change it to, I would very much appreciate it.

Ive already tried using a few of the guides on here, wih no luck. I looked through that stff and it wasnt very helpful. The whole thing was a bit outdated, which is also not helpful.
