You can stop it but that would be incredibly selfish. What you download you upload and then everyone can share.

If your download exceeds the size of the file then I think you have been downloading bad data that has to be re-downloaded. Perhaps this can happen more than once. In general I am very happy with 1.07. Two things that bug me are the number of people who download and then do not seed, or do so for a very short time, and a small irk is that when I am uploading via long-term seeding, I do not know how to find out which files are uploading.

If you have set BC to long-term seeding, it can upload even when you have stopped downloading and seeding. I have no problem with this as it usually does not take a lot of bad width but I would like to know how to find out which files are uploading to check that I am getting my points at various sites.

My router is asking for the TCP and UDP ports. What should I answer? Are they the listening ports that I have set in options?

That usually means the file is not available. No seeder.

Change the speed for uploads (say 50kBps) in options and make long term seeding available.

My firewall is ok as the system works when I am connected directly to the ADSL. However my router is not the same and I am unable to figure out the NAT configuration. The only way my system seems to work satisfactorily is to set the automatic ISP identifier. I notice that my ISP changes every time I connect.

I have set my listening port to 60666 and downloads are quickish at 30-60kB but my uploads have ceased. This is a problem as I will get banned soon at my favourite site, not to mention my guilt after slamming selfish people who never seed.

My HD is 60% free as I keep most data on portable HD's

I have to disconnect from my router to get green but now it seems that I am uploading nothing. This is a problem because my dl:ul ratio is dropping fast and I will be banned from my favourite site. I cannot workout the NAT/router settings as everything is in Chinese which although I speak, I do not read and write much.

if they have 001, 002 and etc they are usually files that have been split. They cane be re-joined with hjsplit which is a free download from ZDnet.com and cnet.com

I think that the problem might be associated with the setting for file and printer sharing. I have the yellow light now too but it is not affecting my download speeds; at present. It was for a few days and then I got the green light, which fixed it. I am now back to yellow and it's still working.
