[SUGGESTION] Separate 'Task Schedule' for BT and HTTP/FTP.

Currently, if you have a limit of 1 for all tasks in BitComet and you want to download a single file from a browser by HTTP or FTP, abnd you have BT tasks waiting, you have to:

- Stop all BT tasks.

- Increase the limit to 2.

- Download file then.

This is counter productive!!!

I suggest that BT and HTTP/FTP have separate Task Schedule limits, so you can keep your BT tasks waiting without having to make such a fuzz.

choose the torrent,Right-click,select "properties"

and select "advanced"(BT) or "more"(HTTP/FTP)

Choose the torrent? What are you talking about?

I don't want to set separate download rates for different files.

I'm talking about that option under the Options>Connection|Tsk Schedule that says: "Max number of download task number".

You know, those that are active, while the rest wait.

Currently there is absolutely no way to make BT tasks have a number and the rest waiting, while setting a separate number for HTTP/FTP tasks.

The number is shared. That's completely unneficient!

If you go to your browser and choose 'Download with bitcomet' for any link, while you have a limit of 1 task. If you have a BT task active, the HTTP/FTP task will wait.

Well, I want it to start right away without having to meddle with the Options>Connection|Task schedule option and without having to start and stop bittorent tasks.

Bittorent tasks should still wait while HTTP tasks start right away.

I don't want to have 10 BT tasks active. I want only 2.

But I want to have also 2 HTTP tasks active, WITHOUT having to start and stop the BT tasks that are waiting.

Do you understand now?

I'm sorry that i don't good at english.

Do you want to have separate task number schedule limits ? And one limit BT task number, one limit HTTP/FTP task number.

I'm afraid that it will be complex,if do what you want.

1. Increase the limit to 10 or above.

2. Only start two BT tasks that you want to download.

3. Then start some HTTP/FTP tasks, how many you want if you want..........--

It's smiple.............

If you can..you can..If you can't..you can't..

gavin> Complex? What are you talking about again?

As BitComet is right ow, it's not complex. It's IMPOSSIBLE.

That's why it's a suggestion for the developers to ADD the feature.

Instead a single Task limit. The box with the task limit control would have another checkbox:

[X] Set separate BT and HTTP/FTP task limit.

Then you'll go to the BT task options and the HTTP/FTP task options and would set the task limits you want there.

I have A LOT of tasks running ALL DAY and I'm not at the computer all day. only 2..6 hours a day.

So, if I leave tasks stopped as yearkiller (BlackCrow) says, the tasks will not start until I come back to the computer in between 12 or 20 hours LATER. And I want them to start BT tasks as soon as possible so I can SEED them as soon as possible.

And If I leave them running, that will prevent HTTP tasks from starting, since the task limit is filled with BT tasks. And I want HTTP takss start right away WITHOUT stopping BT tasks.

I DON'T want to stop running or waiting BT tasks in order to start HTTP taks. That would be absolutely illogical.

Anytime I try to download something and forget about this, I end up checking BitComet and seeing that a file I thought was download is at the end of the task list, and never started at all.

There's simply no way to do so as BitComet is right now.

This is not a question about how to do it. I KNOW that it's IMPOSSIBLE.

This is a suggestion for BitComet developers to ADD the feature, so I can't stop whining in the Release Notes page for it every single time they release a new BitComet without this.

You can do what I say in FlashGet. But FlashGet sucks a great deal when it comes to torrent files, and I want to use BitComet ONLY. I don't want to have to set FlashGet for HTTP and BitComet for BT, I had that layout before an it was even worse than having to start and stop BT tasks again, and again, and again.

Did I made myself clear now or should I try again?

OK, this post is referred to developers.

But,I'm not sure that will be added.

Of course you are not sure. Suggestions are not orders. I really want it, but there's nothing I can do but whine and keep asking for it if they don't add it.

Version 1.03 and Bt and HTTP/FTP use the same limit of tasks... T-T

Adding a new variable and changing the variable HTTP/FTP tasks check...

That's probably all that's needed...

This will make BitComet a better download manager. All the other do that!

Don't you think I'll forget about it.

1.05 and no separation.

For those that use BitComet to download by HTTP/FTP and BT at the same time, it's annoying having to stop BT tasks or change the limits so HTTP tasks start.

1.06, and yet no separation.

I really like how BitComet downloads HTTP tasks, but it's still a nuisance having to stop waiting BitTorrent tasks so the HTTP ones start.

Please separate their tasks so BT tasks and HTTP/FTP taks get their own separate "Task Schedule" options.

1.07 and I still have to stop BT tasks or increse the global task limit when I want to download HTTP/FTP tasks.

This is a huge flaw that must be fixed as soon as possible!

Most of the time HTTP tasks have time limits, so they must be downloaded right away, you can't make them wait for BT tasks, that take much more time.

Their number must be set separately, so you can download the HTTP ones even if you have queued BT tasks waiting.

FINALLY! Thank you!

I've been asking for this since 0.97!!!

It sure took time for something so SIMPLE to do!!!
