1. The first step in ripping a dvd is get some sort of dvd ripping software. I prefer to use Imtoo Dvd Ripper it works the best for me and i have never had any problems
2. To get Imtoo Dvd Ripper go to isohunt.com and search for it
3. Next after you've downloaded the program you have to register the program. First go to help and then enter registration code (this is included with the download)
4. Once that is complete is should say registered sucessfully.
5. Now to actually start the ripping process insert the dvd and click open dvd.

6.  Now after you inserted the dvd select the file that has the length of the movie you are ripping this is under duration most movies are about an hour and a half. delete every other file besides this because this is the only necessary file.

7.  then click the red dot button and this should take about an hour depending on how fast your computer is.

8. On the profile section of this program this will rip whatever type of file you will want. i Prefer .avi or .mpg. all the others ones aren't really necessary. if you want to rip it for an ipod selct .mp4
