movies, so it seems completely beside hte point to hand out awards for the best of last year. Also rendering the Saturn Awards kind of meaningless? They handed their top prize to The Dark Knight, an award any given kid in line at your local AMC could have predicted.
Ah well. The sci-fi movies have to be honored in some way, and at least the Saturns make room for two other top prizes, Best Fantasy Film and Best Horror Film, which went to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Hellboy II: The Golden Army, respectively. Now I have no idea how Hellboy II qualifies as a horror film, but maybe that's more of a statement about the pitiful state of America horror than anything else.

Jaden Smith as Best Younger Actor for The Day the Earth Stood Still?) Check it all out and take one more moment to remember the hits of last year before you dutifully line up to see Transformers 2.
