Now that we know a little bit more about what the movie is actually about, the viral campaign for District 9 is even more appealing, doing more to bolster the world rather than frustrating us all with a lack of details. So check out the new viral video for the movie, which announces that non-humans have escaped from the District 9 area. "District 9 residents are violent and unpredictable," of course, because they're aliens who settled the earth some years ago and were subsequently shuttled into ghettoes to be kept away from humanity.
District 9, of course, is the film by Peter Jackson protege Neill Blomkamp, about a world in which aliens are looked down upon much as other races have been discriminated against over time. The movie comes out August 14, and may very well be sneaking up as the most anticipated movie for the rest of the summer.
