Hooray for reunions! No matter how many seasons My Name is Earl managed to run, Jason Lee has always, always been Banky from Chasing Amy to me. You may prefer him as Brodie from Mallrats or Azrael from Dogma, but really, Jason Lee and Kevin Smith are a match meant to be. Which is why it is great, great news to hear that Jason Lee will be popping by the set of A Couple of Dicks, playing the stepfather to the daughter of the character played by Bruce Willis.
Got that? Michelle Trachtenberg has also signed on to play the daughter, but Variety isn't explaining how either of these two fit into the complicated plot about two cops (Willis and Tracy Morgan) dealing with all kinds of craziness. I love the idea of Lee's presence meaning a return to the 90s, View Askew Kevin Smith world, though it seems lately he's interested in leaving that behind. Just one Bluntman and Chronic reference, though, and I'll be happy.
