When I was a teenager, young males proved their dominance by parking their cars next to one another, cranking up their stereos, and competing to see who had the loudest base cannon. The winner was chosen when someone’s ears started to bleed. When my Dad was a kid, I think they all turned juke boxes on by punching them or jumped motorcycles over sharks or something. Now though, American teenagers have taken to dancing. Because there’s nothing that says alpha male like leaping around in a tight t-shirt. This metrosexual thing really has gone too far folks.

But no matter how tiresome it may have become to you and me, this whole obsession with watching people dance just won’t go away. It’s invaded everything, and now it’s spawned a sequel. Step Up 2: the Streets hits theaters this February and I guess a lot of the dancing takes place at a wet t-shirt contest, because here’s the movie’s first soaking wet poster:
