Despite rumors which had her written out of the franchise, it looks like Michelle Rodriguez will return to The Fast and the Furious for the currently filming fourth movie. The news was announced yesterday on her official site.
She’ll reprise her role as Letty, the character she played in the first FF movie. Letty was the tough as nails, racer girl love interest of Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto character. She hasn’t been seen since the first movie, and there’s no word yet on how she’ll figure into the fourth one. For that matter, this could just be some sort of cameo. The movie has been filming for awhile now, and if she’s only now signed on into be in it that may mean they won’t need her on set very long.
At least we no know they’ll have one female character in the film who isn’t just lesbian makeout eye candy. Michelle doesn’t do eye candy, and since Rodriguez, that seems to be what all of the FF women have been reduced to. And yes, that goes double for you Eva Mendes. Though I’d probably take empty-headed roles like that too, if I looked as good as you do in a swimsuit.
