Too lazy to read all the wonderful news our insightful crew scours the globe to bring you every day? Too outmoded to have an MP3 player for the podcast? Shame on you all! However, being the generous lot we are, welcome to news:blended, your weekly guide to the most interesting stories reported on Cinema Blend over the last seven days.

We went another week with Josh making sarcastic and negative comments about something related to the Batman movie and then claims he has nothing against the film. He’s still not over that whole “Batman Begins got treated better than Superman Returns” thing that bugged him. Maybe I can get him to let me review The Dark Knight when it comes out. Maybe he’s worried my review will be “it’s so freakin’ great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” It probably will be.

SATURDAY
Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.
You know that when your movie news week starts off with the report of a bus accident on a film set, it’s not a good sign. Fortunately, things got a little more interesting the rest of the week and everyone on the G.I. Joe set were ok. In that order.

SUNDAY
Gandalf will probably play Gandalf.
Our Tribeca coverage is second to none. Not literally.
In a move that should surprise no one, Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis, are going to reprise the biggest roles of their careers for Guillermo Del Toro’s The Hobbitt. Why wouldn’t they? It would only be news if they didn’t do it. Katey is off getting news and reviewing movies that are playing at Tribeca. I never get to go to those film festivals. I think the website is worried I’ll do something stupid and make everyone else look bad. This is a website that gave Mack Rawden a column, and they are worried about ME.

MONDAY
We interview the best and the brightest. Also, this guy.
Hey, Spike Lee is making a bad movie, big surprise.
We interviewed a lot of people this week, some you’ve even heard of. One you haven’t heard of is Steve Kaplan who stars with William H. Macy in the movie Bart Got a Room. That doesn’t mean it’s not a good interview. Usually the name Spike Lee is a tip-off to me that it will not be a good movie. He might make a movie out of cell phone footage shot by you and me. Well, not me, since all of my cell phone video footage looks like crap. Oh wait, that’s the way all cell phone footage looks. Can’t wait for this movie.

TUESDAY
If you catch this virus, see a doctor and get rid of it.
Hey, Will Ferrell is making a bad movie, big surprise.
Josh is sick of all these viral marketing strategies and games and is taking it out on poor Christopher Nolan, Warner Brothers, and people looking for bowling balls instead of working and producing things for society. This Rant generated the most comments I’ve seen in awhile, at least for something not related to Josh Whedon and his crazy fans. I was never a crazy fan of Land of the Lost, although I did watch it growing up. I can’t imagine the movie will be very good (Bewitched anyone?.) Pictures from the set don’t do much to increase my enthusiasm.

WEDNESDAY
We tell you what you don’t know and don’t want to know about Iron Man
Go away, please.
By now, unless you are me, you probably have already seen Iron Man or have plans for sometime this weekend. If you still don’t know what’s what and who’s who with Iron Man history and the players behind the movie, you’re probably not someone with access to a television, magazines, or a computer. For those few people, we have the CB Guide to Iron Man. Fortunately the release of Iron Man will take some attention away from the continuing X-Files sequel movie that I have no interest in and we seem to cover all the time with those “is this for real” stories. We have another one of those this week. God, I’m getting pissed at this movie. .

THURSDAY
Babylon A.D.; isn’t that the title of a Squeeze album?
Take off your top, get a movie deal.
If Vin Diesel and Penelope Cruz never made another movie, I wouldn’t be sad. I don’t dislike either one of them, but I can’t say either has been the star of a movie I’d recommend. Remember that one where Vin played a guy in court, what the hell was up with that? Cruz seems to have to whip her top off to get noticed, which is never a good sign. So although both have movies coming out sometime this year, I’ll pass.

FRIDAY
She sang that song in that movie where John Travolta got shot in the toilet.
We pretend to care about what you may think.
Josh said that Dusty Springfield doesn’t deserve her own biopic because she isn’t particularly well known and influential. A few people wrote in to say that she sang “Son of a Preacher Man.” And that’s about it. I’m going to say that a person has to have at least two songs I’ve heard before they deserve a biopic. Good call Josh. It was also a good call to make an Iron Man movie since the critics seem to like it and so do our readers. They said so in our very own scientific poll with a margin of error at +/- 80%. Our readers like a lot of crap, though, so who knows what that means.

That’s all for another week of news blending. It’s like what you get at Jamba Juice, but cheaper and not quite as healthy. If you liked it or didn’t, leave some feedback.
