I had no idea people actually still read “TV Guide Magazine”, but apparently the folks over at ShockTillYouDrop do. They spotted an interview with former Jurassic Park star Laura Dern, in which she talked about the long rumored Jurassic Park 4.
It’s been awhile since we’ve heard anything about this particular sequel, perhaps because Spielberg has been too busy with Indiana Jones to pay much attention to it. However Dern says the movie is not only still happening, but it’s “in development and shooting soon!” She knows, because her character Dr. Ellie Sattler is supposed to be involved. I guess that means she’ll be back as well.
That assumes of course we can take anything she has to say seriously. Oddly enough, it was around this same time last year that she hinted in another interview that she’d be making Jurassic Park 4 soon. A year later, and there’s been no movement on it. Don’t be surprised if we hear the same thing from her around this same time next year. It’s becoming a tradition.
When it comes to JP4, there are rumors aplenty. Some of the worst ones have the plot involving dinosaurs carrying guns. No that is not a joke. It’s unlikely though that it’ll be directed by either Steven Spielberg or Joe Johnston, if they’re actually shooting soon. Both directors are otherwise engaged.
