With approximately $26 million banked for Sex and the City compared to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull's $12 million, the ladies of New York are easily poised to be the number one movie this weekend. Even though they won't get close to Iron Man or Kingdom of the Crystal Skull's $100 million dollar first-weekend totals, they'll easily take third place for the year so far, beating out Horton Hears A Who and Prince Caspian.

The question that remains is whether or not Sex and the City can keep up the competition through the weekend. Plenty of women got out on a Friday night for ladies night out with the escapist drama, but will there be as many rushing to theaters on Saturday and Sunday?
