Almost certainly timed to coincide with her appearance in The Grudge 2 when it opens this weekend, Amber Tamblyn has been announced as the star of a new indie thriller called Blackout.

Ed Doughterty and Valerio Morabito are writing the script about three people trapped in a hospital elevator for 24 hours. Their annoyance turns to nightmare when one of the trapped occupants realizes he has forgotten to wear deodorant??? or something like that. Amber will play a girl trying to get her near death grandma to the hospital.

Also on board the film are actors we all care about less. "The Wire's" Aiden Gillen will be a psycho killer doctor, and Arnie Hammer plays a teen trying to run off with his girlfriend and drink beer. Wait??? psycho killer? What are the odds that a near death granny and a murderous doctor both end up trapped in the same elevator? I say give him grandma as a peace offering and hope he leaves everyone else the hell alone. Movie over.
