HOLLYWOOD - The producer of the blockbuster Spider-Man movie franchise has confirmed a fourth film is underway.
Speaking at a recent meeting of cinema owners, Laura Ziskin revealed she and Sony Pictures movie executives are hopeful that the new film could be ready for theaters in 2011, even though a screenplay has yet to be written and Tobey Maguire has yet to re-sign as Spider-Man and his alter-ego Peter Parker.
The first three movies have grossed $2.5 billion worldwide.
