We got the opportunity to sit down and talk with the iconic Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Krueger) during Comic Con. We were supposed to be talking about a couple of new horror comedy projects that he’s currently promoting: Zombie Strippers and Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer. Unfortunately time was short and Englund is so eloquently verbose, we barely got to touch on his current projects.
I asked Englund what it was like having grown to the level of being such a horror icon that he’s kind of the “go-to guy” when it comes to paying tribute to the genre as a whole. Here’s Englund’s answer:
function getVideo() {
var so = new SWFObject("http://cdn.springboard.gorillanation.com/storage/xplayer/ci001.swf", "mplayer", "518", "467", "8", "#000000");
so.addParam("wmode","transparent");
so.addParam("swliveconnect", "true");
so.addParam("allowfullscreen","true");
so.addVariable("autostart","false");
so.addVariable("continuousPlay","false");
so.addVariable("file", "http://cms.springboard.gorillanation.com/xml_feeds_advanced/index/39/3/22/0/0/0/0/0/0/0/");
so.addVariable("pageUrl", document.location);
so.write("flashcontent_defaultplayer_39_3_22");
}
getVideo();
Oh, and if you saw our story the other day, Englund was kind enough to give us his insight on the current direction of a new V series, as he understands it. Here’s the interview snippet where he talks about V:
function getVideo() {
var so = new SWFObject("http://cdn.springboard.gorillanation.com/storage/xplayer/ci001.swf", "mplayer", "518", "467", "8", "#000000");
so.addParam("wmode","transparent");
so.addParam("swliveconnect", "true");
so.addParam("allowfullscreen","true");
so.addVariable("autostart","false");
so.addVariable("continuousPlay","false");
so.addVariable("file", "http://cms.springboard.gorillanation.com/xml_feeds_advanced/index/39/3/23/0/0/0/0/0/0/0/");
so.addVariable("pageUrl", document.location);
so.write("flashcontent_defaultplayer_39_3_23");
}
getVideo();
