Woody Allen always creeps me out. Whenever I see him I imagine he’s just come from a closet, where he spent the afternoon dry-humping a Hoover. His movies creep me out too, especially the bad ones, but his next one creeps me out even more than normal.
It stars the great Larry David, and according to jsonline it just got a title. Woody is calling it Whatever Works, and it’s a “blackish comedy”. Does he do any other kind?
What makes it creepy is that in the film Larry David plays 20-year-old Evan Rachel Wood’s love interest. Woody Allen’s obsession with cranky old men dating young women continues, he’s just replaced himself with the guy who created Seinfeld. It’s worn out territory for Allen, and somehow only made grosser for the inclusion of David. I have a hard time believing women his own age wanting to date Larry, let alone someone who can’t legally drink. At least now it has a title, so we’ll all know what to look for when we want to avoid it.
