Colin Firth Is Feeling Gray

Two generations of hunky British men will be teaming up for Dorian Gray-- well, three generations, if you count the original author, Oscar Wilde. The Hollywood Reporter says that Colin Firth has signed on to join "Prince Caspian" Ben Barnes in the movie, which means that women with a thing for British accents should be marking their calendars.

Barnes will play the titular Gray, a playboy who has a portrait painted of him that ages when he himself never does. Firth plays Lord Henry Wotton, described in the Reporter as "the aristocrat who corrupts Gray with his worldview." That's vague enough to mean pretty much anything, but knowing Oscar Wilde it will probably be a little bit scandalous, and probably pretty funny too.

Colin Firth probably needs a bit of an ego boost after playing the most ridiculous character in the entire cast of Mamma Mia! (and that's saying a lot), and Barnes didn't really burst onto the scene the way he might have expected to when The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian didn't turn out to be a massive hit. Maybe they can both teach each other a thing or two, even if it's just how to be even hotter while speaking in that refined British accents.
